Finding a good electrical contractor or a contractor in general, can be tricky. Many people assume that they can google search for local electricians in their area and find their perfect match. This is far from the case. Read more to find out exactly what to look for when searching for an electrician.
When you are searching for an electrician, or any tradesman for that matter, it is important to not only be very specific for what you are looking to have done, i.e. “electrical panel change” or “generator installation” or “licensed electrician”, but also to ask the right questions once you are in touch with them. For example, if you are looking to remodel your home and are looking for an electrician in MA or in RI to complete the work, you want to make sure that they are in fact a licensed electrician in that state. You also want to make sure that they carry the proper insurances as well. Steer clear of any contractor who tells you that they will avoid pulling electrical permits to “save you money” or one who quotes you far less than the other quotes you have received. These electrical contractors will only cost you more money in the long run. Ask for references on previous projects they have done, and call them. An electrical contractor who is worth their salt will meet with you, answer all your questions up front and be able to provide you with the proper proof of insurance and their electrical license on the spot. And remember, when something sounds to good to be true, it often is. When in doubt, give us a call.
